Our coal is used to power cement plants, the manufacturing of steel and iron, as well as other industrial and domestic uses. Coal is the most important fuel for electricity generation. Its operations are Strategically located in the state of Boyaca in Colombia. Our abundant reserves and underground mining operations allow us to extract the following types of Coal: AnthraciteOften used in domestic and industrial operations. It contains the least amount of impurities and the highest content of carbon of all coals. Its heating value is slightly lower than bituminous coal. Coking coalIt provides the fuel necessary to manufacture both steel and iron products. It is also used to power cement plants, chemical plants, and paper mills among others. Steam or Thermal coalIt is used mostly for power generation. There are manufacturing facilities using this type of coal to produce electricity and / or steam.
